| Monday, July 23, 2007

A sports announcer for ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh was arraigned today in federal court on a child pornography charge, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.

John Duffy, 46, of Carnegie, is charged with one count of possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor. Duffy pleaded not guilty and was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.

On May 16, federal authorities found "visual depictions, namely images and videos contained in computer graphic files, the production of which involved the use of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct," according to the two-page indictment.

If convicted, Duffy faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The indictment stemmed from an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.

ESPN Radio's station manager could not be reached for immediate comment.
