| Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011

Beaver County authorities are investigating the possibility that a body found in the Ohio River near Cumberland, W.Va., on Wednesday is one of two men missing from the county since January.

New Cumberland Police Chief Lester Skinner said the body of a man was spotted around 5:15 p.m. by a barge crew about 200 yards south of the New Cumberland Dam on the Ohio side of the river. Skinner would not provide a description. He said the body has been sent for autopsy to the state medical examiner's office in Charleston, W.Va.

Beaver County District Attorney Anthony Berosh said investigators are monitoring the identification process.

Michael Andreas, 44, of Beaver, who suffers from Huntington's disease, has been missing since Jan. 30. Geneva College student Devon Minor, 18, of Clifton Heights near Philadelphia has been missing from campus since Jan. 20. Police do not suspect foul play in either disappearance.
