Penguins trim training camp roster

| Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011

The Penguins have made seven cuts, tripping their training camp roster to 32 players.

Left wing Eric Tangradi is the biggest name of the players being cut, though the move was not unexpected given Tangradi's mediocre camp and the team's overwhelming forward depth.

Also cut were forwards Ryan Craig, Nick Johnson and Colin McDonald. Goalies Brad Thiessen and Scott Munroe will join the forwards at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Defenseman Scott Harrington, the team's second round pick earlier this year, was returned to his junior team in London following a terrific camp.

Craig, Johnson, McDonald and Munroe will have until Thursday to clear waivers.
