'Crystal Fairy' annoys, fascinates

IFC Films
Michael Cera in 'Crystal Fairy'

‘Crystal Fairy'

No rating, but R in nature

Michael Cera is an obnoxious Yank tripping around Chile in this alternately annoying and fascinating road movie. Gaby Hoffman, as a flaky hippie, has the title role.

She and Cera's coke-snorting, Huxley-quoting blabbermouth join a Chilean trio, heading for the desert in search of a magic cactus.
