Free admission for military at Carnegie, Westmoreland museums

Active-duty military members and their families this summer will get free admission to the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, as part of the Blue Star Museums Program, a project of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The free admission begins May 24 and lasts through Sept. 2.

Starting May 27, the Carnegie Museums in Oakland will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Labor Day, in addition to their regular hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, until 8 p.m. Thursdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
