'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Selena Gomez, who's graduated from Disney star to pop singer and movie actress, will have her own solo concert tour this summer and fall, including a stop Oct. 11 at Petersen Events Center in Oakland.

The tour is in support of her upcoming album, the fourth for the 20-year-old who recently starred in “Spring Breakers” and who came to fame on Disney Channel's “The Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Tickets for the Oakland show are $36.50 to $64 and go on sale at 10 a.m. April 20.
