Pittsburgh is among the top 20 cities nationwide for employing caregivers for elderly people, said, a service that connects senior citizens and professionals in the care field with providers.

Nearly 4,000 senior home care agencies have opened nationwide since 2008, Caregiverlist said Thursday. More than 4,000 caregivers and certified nursing assistants are hired monthly through the service.

Some other cities on the list: Boston, Philadelphia/Cherry Hill, N.J., Baltimore and Washington.
