Airport traffic fell in 12 of last 14 months

Passenger traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport declined 5.2 percent in August compared to August 2011, the Allegheny County Airport Authority said on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh's monthly air traffic decreased year-to-year in 12 of the past 14 months, authority figures show.
Pittsburgh had 727,579 passengers in August, down from 767,792 in August 2011.
JetBlue Airways reported passenger gains for the seventh straight month, with an increase of 16.6 percent, while Air Canada also increased traffic. AirTran Airways, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways all reported decreases.
