The Rivers Casino paid the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board $11,570 to correct a tax underpayment caused by an error.

Some slot machines at the North Shore casino had incorrect settings that enabled the machines to pay out at an elevated level for four hours on Feb. 29.

The board also Wednesday levied fines to other casinos in the state and companies totaling $40,000 for the unauthorized use of table games equipment. The largest fine was $18,000 against DEQ Systems Corp., a Canadian manufacturer of table games and related equipment. The company distributed and allowed use of its EZ Track System, an electronic system used in baccarat, before getting a required conditional manufacturer's license.
