Noteworthy: The Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators honored Henderson, a Duquesne University professor with the 2012 Award of Achievement for Service to the Profession.

Family: Wife, Terri Henderson, vice president for Education and Workforce Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western PA.

Occupation: Henderson is a professor and co-director of the University Council for Educational Administration Center for Educational Leadership and Social Justice at Duquesne.

Education: Henderson received his bachelor's degree in social psychology from Princeton University, his master's in educational administration from Rutgers University and his doctorate in education administration, also from Rutgers.

Background: Henderson served 22 years as a teacher, administrator and superintendent at schools in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before becoming the founding director of Duquesne's Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program for Educational Leaders in 1992. He also previously served as dean of Duquesne's School of Education.
