A ring designed by Caesar Azzam, owner of Caesar's Designs Fine Jewelry Creations in Shadyside, won a 2013 American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Award in the evening-wear category. Set in 18K rose gold, the ring features a large, pink tourmaline surrounded by a ring of small, cultured pearls and oval-shaped green garnets. The ring — named Printemps (spring) — resembles blooming flowers.
