Ski slopes opened at Seven Springs Mountain Resort while a Menorah Parade weaved its way through Shadyside, Squirrel Hill and eventually across the Homestead Grays Bridge to the Waterfront for a Hanukkah concert. Jules Williams, a 37-year-old transgender woman from the North Side, sued Allegheny County on claims that she suffered repeated sexual, physical and verbal assaults from male inmates while incarcerated at the county jail. In sports, the Penguins ended a five-game homestand with loss to the Colorado Avalanche, and the Patriots defeated the Steelers in hard-fought battle at Heinz Field.
