Jason Bridge | Valley News Dispatch - Crews from Vandergrift No. 2 Fire Department work to stabilize the front porch of a home at 96 Longfellow St. in Vandergrift after a truck rolled into it about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Vandergrift police Lt. Casimer Maszgay said Robert McElroy of Gilpin had engaged the emergency brake on his Dodge Ram truck but left the standard transmission in gear when he parked it along Longfellow. The truck's brake apparently failed and the truck crashed into the house owned by Thomas Palucacos. No one was injured in the crash and no charges will be filed. Vandergrift No. 2 Fire Chief Steve Potoka said his crew helped brace the front porch roof until it can be fixed. No major structural damage occurred to the house.
