The Frick Art Museum welcomed fellow artifiles on Friday for an opening preview party to toast Impressions of Interiors: Gilded Age Paintings by Walter Gay, where more than 300 were perusing close to 70 paintings from private collections and museums all over the world, including The Met, the Musée d'Orsay and the Art Institute of Chicago.

“This was four years in the making,” said Anne Genter, a trustee of The Richard C. von Hess Foundation, which provided a grant for the exhibit. “The book is just fabulous.”

Director Bill Bodine Jr., board chair David and Susan Brownlee, Thomas Cook, Donna and Vince Delie Jr., Chip Burke Jr. and Carole King, Joel Bernard, Tom and Chris Gillespie, and Mike and Cindy Hatcher were amongst the VIPs making the rounds.

“It's kind of a treat to see all of the paintings together,” said Priscilla Caldwell, director of the DC Moore Gallery in New York and exhibition catalog contributor.
