Gifting Gala toasts Family House's 30 years of service

“It's amazing. It's unbelievable, just the amount of people that come in for either one week or even six months. I like to say that it's a hidden gem of Pittsburgh, except that it's not so hidden anymore,” offered Holly Hoff, who along with her husband, Jared, and Laura and D.J. Miller, were co-chairing Family House's Gifting Gala.

Held on April 13 at the Omni William Penn, the gala quickly filled the ballroom with 300 guests, including interim executive director Bob Howard, board chair Glen Feinberg, Becky and Tim Kcehowski, and Helen Wylie and Jeff Palastro, who were toasting the Family House's 30 years of service.

Four buildings now accommodate more than 14,000 families throughout the year, serving as a safe haven and support system for patients and their loved ones who are dealing with a medical crisis.

“It's not a hotel. They can relax and let their guard down. It's their house,” added Jared.
