Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence celebrates 20th year

Marty's Market might have seemed like an unusual venue to host a 20th anniversary party, but it didn't seem to raise any eyebrows among the 300-plus celebrating with the University of Pittsburgh's Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
Alumni and the curious made the rounds June 11 during A Summer Soiree, where the Institute's founder, Ann Dugan, was reconciling with just how fast two decades can breeze by.
“It seemed like overnight,” she said. “It's interesting, because I've never had a day of work in my life.”
From start-ups to family businesses, the institute wasn't short of fans willing to give personal testimonials on its behalf. “Out of everything I go to — and I network a lot — they have the best events,” shared James Stokes, while others gave it high marks for prime networking opportunities.
Also attending were Brett and Jana Randall, Christy Uffelman, Jill Sandilla, Mike Joyce, Jon Singer, Kevin Slogick, Alex McCarthy and Jamie Loveland, Laurie and Ken Rogg, and Jeff Fitting.
