“I'm replicating the Oscar!” joked Lea Guarino of her gold ensemble. “No, I really didn't plan it that way.”

Coincidental fashion statements aside, the Pittsburgh Film Office was expecting a crush of 940 guests for Lights! Glamour! Action! — its annual red-carpet replica of the Academy Awards. In an unusual twist, few early predictions were being vocalized, although some were quick to admit a tradition of waving the white flag rather than staying up to see who snags best picture.

“We never do!” said Jean Peterson, with her husband Tom.

Held in the East Club Lounge of Heinz Field on March 2, honorary chairsDeb Rice-Johnson andBlair Johnson, PFO director Dawn Keezer, board prez Russ Streiner, George Long, Drs. Katie andTony Farrah, and Emilio and Donina Cornacchione were among the VIPs.
