Giant cakes resembling one of Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic home designs and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood of Make Believe came away with top honors in the Heinz Architectural Center's CAKEitecture pastry competition.

Judges awarded first place to a team of bakers from Prantl's Bakery and the architectural firm Loysen + Kreuthmeier for their buttercream re-creation of Wright's Fallingwater house.

The competition, held Saturday at the Carnegie Museum of Art, helped to mark the center's 20th anniversary, teaming architects with bakers to build edible replicas of local architecture. The grand prize was a guided tour of the museum by a curator.

The public also got to weigh in on the competition.

A chocolate-based cake featuring Mister Rogers' Neighborhood of Make Believe, crafted by Dozen Bake Shop in Lawrenceville and members of the Young Architects Forum, won the people's choice award.
