Seniors for Safe Driving offers courses in East suburbs
Seniors for Safe Driving is offering courses on safe driving practices for people 55 and older in Monroeville, Penn Hills and Plum.
The courses, separated by refresher and standard, cost $16 per person. Online courses cost $21.25.
The refresher course, four hours long, is for those who have completed a Mature Driver Improvement course at least once, according to Seniors for Safe Driving's website. The standard course, two 3.5 hour sessions, is for those who have never taken a class.
Completing the course gets people discounts on auto insurance that starts at 5 percent and lasts for three years.
Here are the upcoming classes:
Monroeville
• Forbes Hospital at 2570 Haymaker Road on March 8 and 9, April 6 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
• Independence Court at 279 Center Road on March 13, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Plum
• Plum Senior Center at 499 Center New Texas Road on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Penn Hills
• Penn Hills Senior Center at 147 Jefferson Road on April 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
