Some residents in the western portion of Parks Township are without water because of a broken water pump at the township's Municipal Authority.

Without water since Wednesday evening are homes along Eagles Nest, Hickory, Ridge and Slate Point roads, according to township supervisors Chairman Bud Shannon.

A temporary fix is expected to return water service in the next few days, Shannon said.

In the meantime, the township has set up a water buffalo along Eagles Nest Road.

It is unknown when the municipal authority will permanently fix the pump because parts have to be specially ordered, Shannon said.
