PLUM — A New Kensington woman has waived to court charges that she allegedly took about $9,400 from an Oakmont senior citizens group that she directed.

Vanessa M. Duvall, 37, of the 400 block of Freeport Road, is accused of theft and access device fraud against the Riverview Community Action Corp.

Records show she was director there until Aug. 8, 2011, and previously coordinated the Verona-Oakmont Meals-on-Wheels program.

Duvall waived the charges Wednesday at the office of Plum District Judge Linda Zucco.

Duvall didn't comment outside Zucco's courtroom.

Attorney Tim Kidd, who is representing Duvall, said she turned herself in to respond to the charges. Kidd said he and the prosecution are talking about restitution. The district judge released Duvall on her recognizance pending trial.

Riverview Community Action Corp. President Judy Ferguson wasn't available for comment.
