A man's stomach was scratched when Brandon Timothy Morton allegedly swung a Samurai sword at him during a confrontation outside a Penn Township home, police said.

Police said Morton, 30, had previously threatened Rashaad Shepard, no address available, and called him a racially derogatory name. Shepard and his friend, Jeremy DiCenzo, no address available, went to Morton's home at 1040 Bert Circle on Oct. 4 to confront him about the name-calling, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Morton allegedly came out of his home carrying the sword and swung it across DiCenzo's stomach area, police said.

Morton told police the victims were not armed when they approached him and that “there's no such thing as a fair fight,” according to the affidavit.

Morton is charged with aggravated assault, harassment, ethnic intimidation and disorderly conduct. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled before District Judge Helen Kistler.
