Several holidays events are planned for the coming weeks. Here is a list of scheduled activities:

Church musical

Level Green Presbyterian Church is presenting the children's Christmas musical “In a Galilee Far, Far Away” on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

There is no cost. Call the church office at 412-372-5370 for information.

Holiday Happenings

Trafford Holiday Happenings is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Scheduled activities include:

• Christmas caroling at the public safety building, 5 to 6:30 p.m.

• Parade, starts at 6:15 p.m.

• Christmas-tree lighting, 6:30 p.m.

• Santa and Mrs. Claus visit seniors, 6:45 p.m.

• Children's crafts at the American Legion, 7 to 9 p.m.

• Teen dance at Old Trafford Sports Club, 7 to 9 p.m.

• Santa and Mrs. Claus greet children at the American Legion, 7 to 9 p.m.

Light Up Level Green

The Community Women's Club of Level Green, Level Green Lions Club and the Level Green Fire Volunteer Department will have Light Up Level Green on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Level Green fire hall.

There will be cookies, hot chocolate, crafts and entertainment by the Penn-Trafford Community Band. Santa Claus will arrive around 6:30 p.m. to light the tree and take photos with children.

PTBA ‘Holiday Lights'

The Penn Township Business Association will ring in the holiday season with its annual “Holiday Lights Celebration” in Harrison City on Dec. 7.

Activities will begin at 5:45 p.m., including a parade from the Penn Township Municipal Building to the “Lindsay” holiday tree lighting. Festivities at the Harrison Room will include entertainment by the Penn-Trafford Community Band, free photos with Santa and cookies and refreshments.

‘Holiday Glam'

Hair Studio on 5th in Trafford is sponsoring a “Holiday Glam” event benefiting Dress For Success Pittsburgh on Dec. 7 at 4 p.m.

Admission is $50 for a full makeup application, eyelashes and an updo or formal hairstyling. Champagne and hors d'oeuvres will be served. All proceeds will be going to Dress For Success Pittsburgh.

The studio also will accept donations of new or used suits, handbags or jewelry to donate to the organization.

Choral concert

St. Barbara Catholic Church will have a free choral concert on Dec. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Youth Praise choir will perform selections from “Waiting for Love,” the adult choir will perform “A Night for Rejoicing,” and Brothers in Praise choir will sing about the coming of baby Jesus.

Author talk

Shelli Prindle, the founder of Hope & Passion Ministries, will present a talk titled “Christmas Outside the Box” at Norwin Alliance Church, 10585 Fairview Drive in North Huntingdon, on Dec. 8.

A lunch, which costs $5, will be at 11:45 a.m., after the free presentation at 1 p.m. Reservations are required for lunch by calling 412-779-1357.

‘Toys for Needy Kids' dance

The “Toys for Needy Kids” dance at Norwin Elks Lodge 2313 will be on Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

There will be door prizes and a cash bar. The kitchen will be open until 10 p.m.

Admission is free with the donation of a toy with a minimum value of $5. Attendees without a toy will pay $5. Call 724-863-3000 for information.
