Wesley Swanson and Angela Zhang, both juniors at North Allegheny Intermediate High School, received first place and finalist honors, respectively, in the Pennsylvania State University Essay Contest.

North Allegheny School District's Variations literary and creative arts magazine received a rating of “Superior” in the Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English.

Rachel Tankersley, a senior at North Allegheny Intermediate High School, was named a finalist in the 2013 National Achievement Scholarship Program.

Rama Godse, a sophomore at Fox Chapel Area High School, earned first place in Declamation at the Pittsburgh Diocese Catholic Forensic League National Qualifying Tournament.
