Saxonburg mayoral result for Democratic nomination up in the air

A North Apollo woman whose son is suing the City of Pittsburgh for false arrest claims in a lawsuit moved to federal court Tuesday that city police also falsely arrested her on a charge of witness intimidation while she was attending her son's hearing on May 6, 2010.

Christine Condarcure, 48, says in the lawsuit that a subsequent investigation by the city's Office of Municipal Investigations determined that Officer Anthony Scarpine did not see her encounter with the witness and made up details in his affidavit.

Her son, Taylor Condarcure, 26, claims in his lawsuit that off-duty police officers working security at the Saddle Ridge Saloon in Station Square violated his civil rights during a Feb. 27, 2010 arrest.

A district judge dismissed the charges against Christine Condarcure at a preliminary hearing. A county judge found Taylor Condarcure not guilty after a bench trial.

City attorney Michael Kennedy said the city is still gathering information for its response to Christine Condarcure's claims.
