Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, 3:06 p.m.

A body found in the Allegheny River in Sharpsburg on Sunday has been identified as that of a 46-year-old Penn Hills man.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Gregory Abernathy.

A member of the medical examiner's staff said Abernathy was identified through his fingerprints.

They said Abernathy had previous addresses in Michigan and California.

An autopsy was expected to be performed on Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death.

The body was found just downriver from the Highland Park dam.
