A Latrobe man allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and her 2-year-old son on Thanksgiving Day, choked and beat her, then took her and the child to his mother's house.
Corey David Wojcik, 22, of 905 Chestnut St., Apt. 5, is in the Westmoreland County Prison on charges of kidnapping, burglary, unlawful restraint, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, simple assault, criminal mischief and driving without a license.
Latrobe police allege that he entered the Pine Street apartment of his ex-girlfriend, Jasmin Anderson, 27, around 11 p.m. Thursday while she was on the phone with her current boyfriend.
Anderson told police Wojcik grabbed her around the throat and choked her until she passed out. She woke up to Wojcik screaming at her.
She told police he pushed her against a wall and head-butted her on her forehead.
Wojcik grabbed Anderson's car keys and told her she was taking him home, police said. He took her son, who had been sleeping, and placed him in the car seat of Anderson's vehicle. Then he started to drive with Anderson and her son in the car.
While driving, Wojcik punched Anderson's mouth and head, she told police. He struck the inside of the vehicle several times.
Wojcik drove to Washington Street in Bradenville, where his mother lives, police said. His mother convinced Wojcik to let Anderson and her son go.
The pair went to a relative's house and called police.
Anderson's current boyfriend told police that Wojcik called him during the ordeal and asked him, “How does it feel knowing that your girlfriend is limp on the couch?” police said.
The man received several more calls threatening him and telling him to stay away from Wojcik's son, according to court papers.
It was unclear from court papers if Wojcik is the father of Anderson's son.
Anderson declined medical treatment for her injuries. Wojcik was treated for a laceration to his hand before being sent to prison in lieu of posting $50,000 bond.
