Monroeville police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday evening at the Sunoco gas station at the intersection of Mosside Boulevard and Northern Pike.

The suspect is accused of pointing a pistol at the cashier and escaping with cash.

Monroeville Police Chief Doug Cole said no one was injured, but he would not say how much money was taken.

Cole said the suspect ran toward the SpringHill Suites hotel, which is between Mosside Boulevard and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

“There probably was a vehicle up there,” Cole said. “Usually these guys have a car somewhere.”
