A new business, J&M Computer Repair, recently opened in Mt. Pleasant Borough.

The shop, which specializes in computer sales and repair, has a variety of services available for maintaining and updating computer systems and software.

“Mt. Pleasant is a great town. We're very happy to be here,” said Jason Serock, a Scottdale resident, co-owner of the business and its senior technician.

Located at 502 W. Main St. across from the Doughboy, the business's hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Serock and his wife Netah Serock, also a co-owner of the business, said they are thrilled with the location of their new business.

“Mt. Pleasant has a lot of long-standing businesses, and we took that as a good sign,” said Netah Serock.

J&M Computer Repair offers an array of electronic options, including Macs, custom built computers, security cameras with digital video recorders, computer gaming systems and a variety of hardware and software.

Services offered include data recovery, virus removal, system upgrades and data transfer.

Since the business opened its doors on June 1, its been getting a good amount of calls, sales traffic and walk-ins, Jason Serock said.

“It's been amazing so far,” he said.

Serock added that his business ethics center on being honest and fair to the customer.

“We believe when you treat people right, they'll come back,” he said.“We know people are on a budget, and we aim to keep our prices fair.”

The couple co-owns the business with Jason Serock's brother, Gary Michael Serock Jr. of Uniontown.

“We're a family business, and we treat our customers like family,” Gary Serock said.

The Serocks have extensive experience with technical support having worked in the field for years in a variety of positions.

Jason Serock said after he earned a degree in networking and became a certified technician, he knew he was ready to fulfill his dream of becoming a business owner. Future plans for the business include the addition of off-site home visits for computer repair, he said.

The business owners added that they would also one day like to offer classes to educate the public on electronics.

“We're just getting established, and we wanted to get to know the locals a bit first, but we hope to offer these services in the future,” Jason Serock said.

The Serocks said they feel their business fills a true area need.

“We're the only business in town that does computer repair,” Netah Serock said. “This is a business that Mt. Pleasant needed.”
