Export VFD to host annual Light Up Export Night on Friday

The Export Volunteer Fire Department will host Light Up Export Night on Friday at 7 p.m. at the firefighter's pavilion.

The event will feature a bonfire, treats for children and a visit from Santa.

Deck-Out Delmont

The Delmont Public Library will host the second annual Deck-Out Delmont contest.

Entry is $2 per house and is only open to residents of Delmont and those with a Delmont mailing address.

Lights, music, inflatables, live animals and other decorations are permitted.

Displays must be completed by Wednesday and judging will take place Dec. 13 through 15.

Eight categories are available.

Christmas house tour scheduled

Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services will host a Christmas tour Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The event includes tours of five Murrysville homes: 4463 Bulltown Road, which has 18 Tuscan stone columns; 3968 Sardis Road, known as the Rugh house; 3935 Sardis Road, which features Brazillian teak hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings; 3926 Sardis Road, which features a curved staircase and modern decorations; and 3743 Windover Road, a 1950s-style ranch house decorated with tinsel trees, radio flyers and vintage dolls.

Tickets are $20 and available at the real estate office along Reed Boulevard, or at any of the homes. Tickets also include a reception at Integral Ballroom.

“A Christmas Carol” presentation

Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church will present an adaptation of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol” Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are free.

“A Christmas Carol” tells the story of how Ebenezer Scrooge learns to keep the spirit of Christmas alive in his heart.

The performance is an all-ages show.

Salem Crossroads celebrates 40 years

Christmas in Salem Crossroads will host its 40th anniversary celebration Dec. 8 and 9 at Shields Farm along East Pittsburgh Street in Delmont.

The walking journey through the past includes vignettes of scenes from the first Christmas. Several local churches also will host displays during the event.

Parking is permitted at St. John de la Salle Church, Faith United Methodist Church and Delmont Presbyterian Church.

Adult tickets are $6 on Saturdays, $5 on Sundays. Children's tickets for those age 3 to 12 are $3 on Saturdays, $2 on Sundays.

Breakfastwith Santa

Newlonsburg MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) will host a Breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Franklin Regional Middle School cafeteria.

Adult tickets are $7, tickets for children age 2 to 10 are $4 and children 2 and younger are free.

Participating children will enjoy breakfast, make a craft and visit with Santa.

Parents are encouraged to bring a camera.

Catechism at MOS

Mother of Sorrows Church will host “Sister's Christmas Catechism” by Maripat Donovan on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.

The event will benefit MOS youth ministry programs.

Christmas Concert

The Kiski Valley Community Band will kick off Christ's Lutheran Church's “Songs from the Sanctuary” series Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

“The Many Sounds of Christmas” is a free concert. A free will offering will benefit the Plum Food Pantry.
