'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Penn Hills native and boxer Freddy Latham Jr. will be part of an all-heavyweight undercard later this month during a night of boxing in Weirton, W.Va.

Made Men Boxing Promotions will present an April 20 card at the Serbian American Cultural Center in Weirton. It will feature Latham, undefeated featherweight Ronell Green, the professional debut of Penn Hills and Bowling Green football alum Angelo Magnone, Josh Stansbury, Nelson Best and Daniel Martz.

Latham, who is 2-0 as a professional fighter with two knockout wins, is a 6-foot-3-inch, 225-pound veteran of nearly 60 amateur fights.
