'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

The Penn Hills Indians extended their record to 2-0 after a 33-15 win over Peters Township on Sept. 6.

Sophomore quarterback Billy Kisner and Junior Isaiah Jones racked up more than 400 yards, with Jones averaging more than 16 yards per carry. Both, along with junior Te'shan Campbell, scored rushing touchdowns.

Kisner was less effective through the air, going 0-for-7 passing. Peters Township's Cory Owen went 8-for-27 for 96 yards passing, but also tossed up two interceptions.

The Indians outgained Peters Township by more than 350 yards.

Next up is a Sept. 13 away game at Baldwin High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
