Baldwin Borough man arrested in Brentwood assault, robbery

Friday, July 12, 2013, 12:45 p.m.

Police are continuing to investigate whether a Baldwin Borough man charged with robbery last week is tied to a series of assaults in the area.

Brentwood police last Thursday charged Khari Williams, 18, with robbery, aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and recklessly endangering another person in connection with an early-morning assault on Pyramid Avenue on June 8.

He is accused of holding up a man at gunpoint, Brentwood Officer Matthew DeLallo said.

Police this week are investigating whether Williams is connected to similar attacks in Brentwood, Baldwin Borough and the Pittsburgh area over the past several weeks, Brentwood police Chief Robert Butelli said.

“We're still looking into it and still following leads,” Butelli said.

More than a half-dozen assaults were reported in the Sankey, Pyramid and Churchview avenue areas of Brentwood, Baldwin and the city, DeLallo said. Victims reported that a man approached them from behind and snatched money from them.

Williams remained in the Allegheny County Jail on $250,000 bond Tuesday morning. A hearing before District Judge John Bova is scheduled for July 23.

Anyone with information about the assaults is asked to contact Brentwood police, by calling 911.
