The borough is home to a new millionaire today.

One lucky Freeport woman has won $1 million by matching all of the white ball numbers in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing. The woman, who has refused to be identified, did not match the red Powerball number, which would have made her winnings about $200 million.

The winning numbers were: 8-13-17-34-59. The red Powerball number that wasn't matched was 35.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials said they can't identify the winner until the prize is officially claimed and the ticket is validated.

The ticket was sold at the Fueland gas station at 222 Buffalo St. Workers at the station were glad the winning ticket was sold there.

"I'm not the winner, but I'm just as excited," said manager Billie Jo Knapp standing inside the store Thursday afternoon.

Employee Ian Murray sold the winning ticket.

"She came in at about 10 a.m. on Wednesday and bought the ticket," Murray said as he sold a lottery ticket to another hopeful bettor. "She came back in at about 8 a.m. today (Thursday) and said she had a winner."

Knapp said she wasn't there when the winner came to claim her prize but had to return to fill out some paperwork.

"She couldn't wait around because she had to go to work," Knapp said. "Can you believe she went to work?"

The Buffalo Street Fueland is no stranger to big lottery winners. In 2007, Freeport resident Mark Shehab bought a Pennsylvania Lottery ticket at the store that won him $1 million.

The new winner also joins fellow borough resident Denise Cornman as a millionaire. Cornman won her $1 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket, bought at a Harrison gas station in 2010.

According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, the Fueland will be awarded $5,000 as a reward for selling the ticket.

The Powerball jackpot now is worth at least $200 million. The next drawing is Saturday.
