Chris Spudich announced Tuesday that after 13 seasons, he's stepping down as Gateway girls soccer coach.

Spudich said he wants to spend more time with his family. He and his wife have a 3-year-old daughter, and another child is due soon.

He compiled a 150-79-26 record and guided Gateway to four section titles, including in his first year as coach in 1999. The Gators added section titles in 2000, '01 and '10. His teams earned trips to the WPIAL playoffs eight times and produced a winning record 10 times.
