The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh is calling for snowfall totals of from 4 to 8 inches between 7 tonight and 7 tomorrow night.
And it could all be capped with a fresh coating of ice across Western Pennsylvania.
The NWS has issed a winter storm warning because of a strong low pressure system that is expected to move through the Ohio Valley beginning this evening.
Snow will be heavy at times into Saturday, mixing with sleet and freezing rain later in the day. The NWS says that strong winds are also possible.
