A Brooklyn, N.Y., man on Thursday pleaded guilty to six federal charges of possessing and passing fake $100 bills in at least two Robinson stores.
Kerven Benoit, 26, used three of the bills to make small purchases on May 23 inside a Sears store and had a receipt from Dick's Sporting Goods, where police recovered two more counterfeit bills, prosecutors say. He was also carrying four more fake bills in his wallet, prosecutors say.
U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer scheduled Benoit's sentencing for April 5.
