A Fayette County man suffered a heart attack on Monday before the vehicle he was driving crashed into a number of fence posts and trees and went over an embankment, Washington County Coroner S. Timothy Warco said.

Samuel H. House Jr., 88, of Cardale, died of chest injuries in the crash that occurred at 2:45 p.m. along Lethermen Bridge Road near the community of Ellsworth in North Bethlehem, Warco said. His death was ruled an accident.

Warco and state police said the vehicle was spotted over an embankment and in a pasture by a passing motorist. Troopers said House was not wearing a seat belt.
