A Penn Hills boy who was hit by a car while trick-or-treating Saturday night remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday, according to officials at Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville.
Edgewood police identified the boy as Robert Simmons.
Simmons, 5, was walking across the street near the corner of Linden Street and Maple Avenue in Edgewood when he was struck. He suffered a severe head injury. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old Edgewood woman, stopped after the incident. Police interviewed her but haven't released her name.
Allegheny County Homicide detectives are investigating the case. A detective working on the case could not be reached for comment.
