'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

A Claysville woman died Sunday morning in West Finley when her car left the road and overturned, the Washington County Coroner's Office said.

Grace Katherine Sauerzopf, 21, was traveling south in a Chevrolet sedan on Burnsville Ridge Road near Stoller Road about 11:35 a.m. when she lost control on a turn. The vehicle went off the road, swerved back across, went up a hillside and then overturned back onto the road, county Coroner Tim Warco said.

Warco pronounced Sauerzopf dead at the scene; an autopsy determined she died of head injuries. State police are investigating.
