Access restored to cash, food stamp benefits

A nationwide problem processing electronic benefit cards temporarily shut down recipients' access to cash and food stamp benefits Friday afternoon, according to a state Department of Public Welfare official.
J.P. Morgan, the vendor for EBT cards in Pennsylvania and other states across the country, experienced problems with its tandem processing system, said Anne Bale, a DPW spokeswoman. The issue was resolved and cards began working again about 1:30 p.m., Bale said.
Signs posted at some Wal-Mart, Shop ‘n Save and other stores in Western Pennsylvania notified customers the benefit cards were not working.
“I have not received any word that information was exposed,” Bale said. “I don't believe there are any concerns regarding the misuse of information.”

We need to eliminate all cash and food stamp benefits across the board. The leaches will go to work, then. Another way is to require 40 hrs a week public service work. The public pays for it, so, require pay back.
