Two women killed, one injured in Butler County crash

Two women died and another one was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Muddy Creek, Butler County, Wednesday afternoon, state police said.

Police said a vehicle driven by Kendra L. Proctor, 22, of Oil City, crossed Route 19 and slammed head-on into a vehicle driven by Sherlaine M. Kowalski, 72, of Richland around 5 p.m. Proctor and Kowalski's passenger, Ruth J. Leidecker, 88, of Marshall, died in the crash. Kowalski was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Police said her injuries were serious. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
