Restrictions ahead for Squirrel Hill Tunnel traffic

Outbound traffic in the Squirrel Hill Tunnels will be restricted to a single lane nightly starting Wednesday and lasting until Dec. 11, PennDOT officials said.
One lane will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays, and from 11 p.m. to 10 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Crews will improve the Commercial Avenue bridge and do other work as part of the $49.5 million Squirrel Hill Tunnel rehabilitation project, scheduled to run until summer 2014.
