Allegheny County has received a $300,000 grant from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program for the Sports and Athletic Complex at Montour Junction.

The program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, provides funding for quality park, recreation and conservation opportunities.

“This funding will be used towards the purchase and installation of a synthetic turf field for soccer, an extension to the Montour Trail and various landscaping at the site,” county Executive Rich Fitzgerald said in announcing the grant on Tuesday.

The Sports and Athletic Complex at Montour Junction is a 78-acre parcel of land on a former brownfield site in Coraopolis, Moon and Robinson.
