An 11th-grade English teacher from Jefferson County is Pennsylvania's 2013 Teacher of the Year.

Ryan Devlin, 27, of Brockway Area Junior-Senior High School won the award, which was announced Tuesday in Hershey by state Education Secretary Ron Tomalis. Devlin was one of a dozen teachers from across the state who were named as finalists in the annual competition.

Among the other finalists were James Prince of North Allegheny School District, Paula Giran of Norwin School District and Staci Blair of Millcreek Township School District in Erie County.
