A Sewickley man claims in a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday that the State Police fired him at the end of his probationary period in November 2010 because of his race and a false claim that he used “Ebonics” in his reports.

William C. Peake claims in the lawsuit the reasons the agency listed in his termination letter were never brought up during the 18 months he worked as a trooper, including a year at the Uniontown barracks, have “no substantial basis in fact, and are not worthy of belief.”

A spokeswoman for the State Police couldn't be reached for comment.
