Students returned to Wilkins Elementary after evacuating due to a bomb treat Friday morning, a school official said.
A student at the school in the Woodland Hills School District “verbalized a bomb threat” very loudly in a hallway just after 9 a.m., said Gerry Chessman, director of support services. The school followed its emergency procedures and evacuated the roughly 400 students while Allegheny County Police searched the school, Chessman said.
Police determined the building was safe, and students returned about 11:40 a.m., Chessman said.
