The Keystone Oaks School District announced Tuesday that two minors have confessed to setting a fire that damaged the Dormont Elementary School playground Nov. 30.
District officials would not release more information but said in a statement that “the involved parties are being dealt with appropriately.”
Dormont Police referred the case to Allegheny County Police detectives, who could not be reached for comment.
The fire began the evening of Nov. 30 in rubber tire chips used as bedding for the playground on Annapolis Street. The fire spread and damaged equipment in one of the playground's two sections and caused some smoke damage to the school before it was extinguished. No one was injured.
