Every year before Memorial Day, students from Community Day School in Squirrel Hill, a school for Jewish children, visit Adath Jeshurun Cemetery in Allison Park to remove old flags and install new ones at veterans' graves.

They returned Tuesday, where military officials with the Army Honor Guard taught them how to fold an American flag and the proper way to salute.

“If it wasn't for these kids, half of these graves would never be covered,” said World War II veteran Clarence “Code” Gomberg.
