One person was taken to the hospital after a fire truck crashed into a car in the West End Thursday evening, officials said.
The accident occurred just before 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Main and Wabash streets, according to Allegheny County 911 dispatchers. The fire truck was responding to a call with its lights and sirens flashing, but a silver SUV failed to yield the intersection.
The driver of the SUV was transported to Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side for treatment of head pain, 911 dispatchers said. No one on the fire truck was injured.
